Wishon Reservoir is also a PG&E Helms hydroelectric reservoir. It is located at the 6,600' elevation at the end of the paved road known as McKinley Grove Road (named after a mature grove of giant redwoods you'll see on the way). It is also about an hour from Shaver Lake. Wishon's fishing is very good. There is an RV Park and general store nearby for your camping and fishing supply needs. The trip to Wishon is worth the drive for the scenery alone. Take Dinkey Creek road to McKinley Grove Road, go right for another 35 minutes.
