what we loved:
-Each room has a king size bed - This helped everyone in our group to feel they were getting equal accommodations
-The large living room with 64 inch TV was great for watching movies
-A bathroom for each bedroom, and two additional bathrooms on the 1st/2nd floor
-Plenty of room for everyone to spread out, get some time away when necessary
-The kitchen had plenty of room for preparing large meals, double oven was a plus
-The large dining room table was big enough to accommodate our group
-Loved the poker table downstairs for various card games
-Large deck was great for stargazing
what we would fix:
Kitchen:
-Lacked the following: Electric Hand Mixer, Baking dishes for things like cornbread, cake, etc., more wooden spoons, serving tools i.e. slotted spoons etc. Dishtowels and a scrubber for the sink would also nice
-Water pressure, sink was slow
-Ice maker in freezer not functional
-Jennair dishwasher did a good job washing dishes but is awkward to load
Bedrooms:
-Each bedroom had different amounts of bedding = the first night some people froze and others roasted. One bed has a down comforter while another had a thin cotton blanket They did have a closet with additional blankets, which solved this problem
-Lighting in the bathrooms was very minimal
Overall:
-Many lights out around the house
-Linen service provided only one towel per person for the entire week. Some bathrooms had wash cloths, others did not
-No Wi-Fi - Our group is a little "techie" with three Ipads, various Iphones, Netflix, Wii etc.this was a major bummer. Solution, Amazon.com shipped us a Wi-Fi router in two days, problem solved!
With everything considered, our family was happy with this home and our vacation. We visited many sno-parks, used sleds, snow shoed, hiked, enjoyed the empty lake, and some very good pizza from town. We are planning on returning in 2012 to celebrate the New Year holiday again.
Liked it so much, I'm coming again!.
