Picturesque House with 3 Bedroom & 2 Bathroom in Shaver Lake (Sierra Escape)
Reviewed by 9746/959746 We fell in love with this place the moment we drove up to it. It was the perfect size for our party (5 adults, 3 kids, 1infant.) The kitchen was great and was well stocked enough for our menu plans. There was plenty of seating for us all, a perfect yard for the kids to sled in, and two great bathrooms with tubs to warm them all up after a long day in the snow! With my infant son just starting to crawl my biggest goal was to find someplace clean and safe, this house met that goal and then some. The biggest plus of this place was the yard and the empty lot next door. It gave us tons of room to play around. Plus, the granite slabs are only a short walk from the back yard and that gives you even bigger hills for sledding. The other thing that is nice is the location of the place is so close to town and the rental office. Fantastic place! We'd go back and stay again, for sure!
Fun, Modern Cabin with most of what you would have at home
Reviewed by tara.beecher With a few bumps in the road leading to our vacation due to down power lines and large of amounts of snow we were finally able to arrive a day and a half late for our vacation. We did buy the extended insurance coverage, however we had to jump through hoops to make Shaverlake Vacation rentals honor that contract. They said they would only refund the amount daily that the cabin was not able to be rented. We were very frustrated; but happy when we were able to check in and extend our stay. The cabin was wonderful with great ammenities. The kitchen could of used more utensils, bowls, cooking pans and pots; but we were able to make due. The kids loved their room; but should have brought some toys for them to play with. The living room had a wonderful fireplace; but it was gas not wood like listed on the description page. The Beds were very hard!!! they did have a few egg crates in poor condition that you could add to the beds; but I do recommend better egg crates and more blankets. We had to keep the heater turned up so we wouldn't freeze to death. Each bed had only one blanket. The linen service was wonderful and we didn't have to worry about bringing sheets or towels. We will rent this cabin again. Oh, at 10:30 Thursday night we had a visitor, the owner arrived and started knocking on the door. We were in bed and a bit startled. He said he didn't realize the cabin was rented, although we made our reservation over a year before??? He stated that he was getting his snow mobiles out of the garage. This was somewhat weird to us and hope it doesn't happen when we rent in the future. Overall we loved the cabin and hope to rent it again.
Great week in the mountains and at the lake
Reviewed by jmforbesnet We had a woderful time in Shaver with hiking, boating, and enjoying the forest. We have been to Shaver at least 15 times in the past and it is alway enjoyable.
